Membership in the ECA has grown considerably from the original founding members. The association was founded in 1996 with a small group of contractors committed to raising industry standards, and today the ECA has over 30 member contractors who are recognized for their professionalism and commitment to safety and integrity.
 Clients know when they choose ECA members, they are selecting from the very best companies in the environmental construction industry. Providing unprecedented value for real estate owners, the environmental industry has recently launched a Management-Labor Safety & Compliance Training Program designed to raise standards throughout the environmental construction industry.
In addition, membership in the ECA provides contractors with membership in the umbrella contractor trade association, the Building Trades Employers’ Association, which offers networking opportunities, legislative support and professional development programs for ECA contractors in addition to mediation and arbitration of jurisdictional disputes. The ECA also works with its members as a collective bargaining representative in the negotiation of labor agreements with its affiliated trade unions, working with these unions to achieve efficiency, safety and professionalism on all ECA member projects.
