William McKenzie serves as President of Abatement for International/Advatex Associates, Inc., a licensed New York-based environmental contracting company. As President, Mr. McKenzie provides careful oversight as Project Executive on key assignments. He maintains close relationships with all clients, subcontractors and project teams as well as with on-site supervisors.
Mr. McKenzie is a seasoned professional with special expertise in the environmental industry including asbestos abatement, lead abatement and mold remediation. This includes all phases of an abatement project beginning with the filing of the proper notifications of completion, ensuring that a project has been performed in a professional manner while ensuring compliance with all federal, state and local laws.
His career in the environmental contracting industry began in 1980 working as a supervisor for an abatement company. Within a year, Mr. McKenzie was promoted to Project Manager and shortly after, he was promoted to Senior Account Manager. Mr. McKenzie’s expert construction capabilities include cost estimation and quantity takeoff, preparation of construction budgets, pre-purchase studies, scheduling, cost and project control. He coordinates work to ensure that all construction contracts are built to requirements, on-time and within budget; interacting directly with clients and providing careful oversight for every assignment.
Mr. McKenzie earned an Associates degree in Business Administration from the City College of New York. He is a member of the Board of Directors of the Environmental Contractors Association and serves on the Board of Governors of the Building Trades Employers’ Association. He is also a trustee of Local 12A, Heat and Frost Insulators.
