Salvatore J. DiLorenzo is the President and Managing Principal of PAL, a full-service environmental remediation contracting firm specializing in asbestos removal, building decontamination, lead paint abatement, general contracting, structural fireproofing and mold remediation. Utilizing his first hand experience in the environmental field, Sal founded PAL in 1993. Under his guidance the company has grown to become an industry leader and one of the largest environmental contractors in the New York City Metropolitan Area. From its inception, PAL has maintained a strong growth pattern which has seen the company complete over $100 million in sales in the past four years while performing some of the most complex and unique projects in the history of the industry.
Sal is a well rounded professional who engages in all facets of PAL’s operation including: estimating, project oversight, new business acquisition, financial management and client relations. Preferring a hands-on approach, Sal has established a large and diverse network of clients including major landlords and general contractors; hospital and health care facilities; property management and leasing firms; numerous New York, New Jersey and Connecticut State Agencies and utilities including MTA/NYC Transit as well as the NYC School Construction Authority. Additionally, PAL was an early responder to the aftermath of the attacks on downtown Manhattan on September 11, 2001.
PAL was a major responder to the World Trade Center disaster site, performing initial decontamination of the Deutsche Bank building at 130 Liberty Street that was damaged by the collapse. Sal contributed his expertise to the team that designed the decontamination procedure that allowed for the building and surrounding environment to be stabilized so that it could be evaluated and remediated. PAL also performed the remediation and pre-demolition abatement of 4 Albany Street. These projects were the first of their kind in the industry and they provided crucial insight of the nature of the contaminant cocktail known as WTC dust and the procedures necessary to properly abate it’s particular hazards.
Additionally, over the course of its existence, PAL has successfully completed projects of all shapes and sizes including the total abatement of the largest office building in Manhattan, 55 Water Street. In recent years Sal has overseen the company’s continued expansion into government projects working and building relationships with such agencies as MTA/New York City Transit, Dormitory Authority State of New York and the New York City School Construction Authority. With each new project Sal continues to add to his expertise and to grow his company to lead the industry into the rapidly changing future.
